Christian Bale On Batman, Batkid And Ben Affleck

Christian Bale

Christian Bale may have hung up his cape, but he’s still got lots to say about all things Batman. The star of Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy was touched by the work of Make-A-Wish Foundation last week when San Francisco was magicked into Gotham City for five year-old Scott Miles.

The miniature crime fighter is currently in remission after being treated for leukemia for a number of years. Speaking in an interview about the heart-warming event, Bale praised both Make-A-Wish Foundation and the city of San Francisco.

“You just think of the delight in that little fella’s heart, running around doing that. As someone who’s played the role, it’s great to see the symbol of Batman is so much bigger than any one person. It’s irrelevant which actor is playing it. But for little Miles to have such a great day is so delightful.”

Bale also had some thoughts on the casting of Ben Affleck as the new Dark Knight.

“He’s a very experienced actor and film-maker, and he’ll make it his own.”

However, Bale pointed out that the outfit can be a little, er…challenging in the bathroom department.

“He should make sure he can take a piss without anyone having to help him. It’s a little humiliating when you have someone help you out of your costume.”

Wise words!
