Scott Cooper Hints Christian Bale May Lead His Adaptation Of Stephen King’s ‘The Stand’

The forthcoming crime-thriller OUT OF THE FURNACE sees writer/director Scott Cooper collaborate with Christian Bale on the intense tale of a recently released ex-con out for ruthless revenge against the men that may have murdered his young brother. When speaking to MTV regarding the film, Cooper suggests he now has formed a strong bond with the former Batman and Oscar-winning actor. Coincidentally, Cooper recently replaced new Caped Crusader Ben Affleck as the director of Warner Bros.’ big-screen adaptation of epic Stephen King novel, THE STAND.

Well, going back to his interview with the music channel, the director also known for his own Oscar-winning drama CRAZY HEART starring Jeff Bridges, has hinted that a quick re-teaming with Bale may be on the cards with him possibly in line to take one of the leads in the supernatural story.     I love the first “series” of movies with Gary Sinese and always thought that even with the crappy technology it was great. My only hope is that they do not try and cram the HUGE story into a hour and fourth-five minute film. It just would not be right nor would it do the book justice. I actually read the book in highschool and absolutely loved it then found that there was the series I just hope that they do this right and not cram it into one film
