Video Game ‘The Last Of Us’ Set For The Big-Screen Treatment?

Although there has been nothing confirmed by the studio, it’s being reported that Sony Pictures registered the following domain names – TheLastofUs-movie.com and TheLastofUsmovie.net – on November 25th. Those game playing readers amongst us may be excited the learn that a film adaption of the video game, THE LAST OF US developed by Naughty Dog, looks likely for the big screen.

The game, released on the Playstation 3 in June of this year, saw Earth’s population decimated by a plague leaving survivors Joel, and a brave 14 year-old named Ellie, fighting for their lives while venturing across the United States in search of fellow survivors and a new way of life.

Personally, I’m clueless when it comes to video games so I’ve no idea if this is a good idea but it does sound promising despite a familiar premise currently seen the likes of The Walking Dead and many other post-apocylptic films/shows.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
