So, it’s the day after the Oscars and our bet is that 90% of those glamorous honeys we saw shmooze down that red carpet are hanging out of their asses or are still drowning their sorrows and staring at the bottom of a glass.
Also, a note to Colin Firth… don’t leave your Oscar at the bar and forget it like you did the BAFTA, you might not be so lucky as to get it back this time.
One team that’s bound to be a little put out after last night is those behind The Social Network, which failed to pick up any of the major awards as it was beaten into 3rd place by strong love for The Kings Speech and Nolan’s dream-thriller Inception.
The Producer of The Social Network has revealed today though that Steven Spielberg, who presented the Award for Best Picture, spoke words that were of true comfort to him as they learned of their fate.
Speaking to Deadline, the films producer Mike de Luca stated that the film about the business of Facebook had already ” exceeded their expectations”.
He went on to tell the site that “I did take comfort in Steven Spielberg’s reminder of the great films that didn’t win ‘Best Picture’.
As to why The Social Network failed to bring home the big ones last night, he struggled for an explanation.
“Maybe it wasn’t pleasing as The King’s Speech to Oscar voters. And historically there is a disconnect between the critics and those voters.”
Controversial, unfair or completely valid explanation?
