Robert Knepper Joins ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay’

The Hunger Games

Clearly not a franchise to keep the fans waiting, it was announced that PRISON BREAK’s Robert Knepper will be joining the last instalments of THE HUNGER GAMES series, and it looks like it could possibly be a new character too.

According to website reports, Knepper will be playing Antonius, President Snow’s (Donald Sutherland) minister. But fans of the book have realised that there is no character of that name. The only character that has some resemblance to the name is Aurelius, but in the book series he is a doctor, not a minister. If that is the case, then it would be the first time that the film has stepped away from the original material.

He joins new cast members Julianne Moore, Natalie Dormer, Lily Rabe, Patina Miller, Stef Dawson, Wes Chapman and Elden Henson. But if you’re feeling uncomfortable with possible character changes (insert Stewie Griffin gif here) you’ll be very happy to know that Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson will be reprising their roles as Katniss and Peeta.

THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY PART 1 is set to be released November 2014, while Part 2 will be released in 2015. Want to know what we thought of THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE? Check out our review here.
