There’s more than a few rumours going around regarding the MAN OF STEEL sequel BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN at the moment, so why not add another to them. Sources are speculating this weekend that none other than one Denzel Washington is being considered to play the role of John Stewart (aka Green Lantern) in the planned sequel.
Now, if this is true then the BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN movie would be the first sequel that Washington has ever appeared in. Take a look at his back catalogue, and you will not find a sequel of any sorts. There are tons of remakes and/or adaptations, but not one sequel.
Nuke The Fridge says:
‘According to our source, the Training Day actor is being considered for the role of Green Lantern John Stewart. If this proves to be true, Green Lantern will join an ever growing list of members from DC’s Justice League of America that also include Superman Batman and Wonder Woman.’
We have no idea if there is any weight to the rumour, but we’ll keep you updated.
BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN will be released on the 17th July, 2015. Denzel Washington will next be seen in the big-screen remake of THE EQUALIZER later in 2014.
