If the quasi-Justice League film, BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN wasn’t already crowded enough – which may in fact turn out to be a very good thing – recent reports from Batman-On-Film have surfaced that MAN OF STEEL 2 may in fact feature are a Batmobile-chase scene. Batman-On-Film’s source recently told them the following:
“Happy New Year! I have a minor update regarding location shooting BvS. I was told that location shooting of vehicle chase scenes (read: Batmobile scenes) will not take place until the Summer. I am under the impression that other location shooting, including exteriors — in addition to studio shooting — could begin as soon as next month, but that has not been confirmed. I’ll continue to keep my ears to the ground.”
What is ol’ Brucey up to? Is he trying to impress Wonder Woman with that engine? In related news, details revealing the capacity of Gal Gadot’s incarnation of the Amazonian princess and her involvement have come to light, in that she will simple have a cameo-plus role, akin to that of Black Widow in IRON MAN 2. It of course will be a well-needed appearance from Diana of Themyscira, who has yet to feature on the silver screen.
Since the announcement of the MAN OF STEEL sequel featuring the two other driving forces to the DC trinity, among others, we’ve all be curious, excited and worried about the direction the film will take and for a long while, we thought what we were hearing was not a Superman film at heart, but a knockoff Justice League movie. The time has come to be put at ease. Whilst Supes’ nemesis, Lex Luthor has not yet been confirmed for the sequel (who seems to be a fan-favourite), news is beginning to surface that he is not the only villain in the film and wait for it… It’s not one of Batman’s. That’s right, BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN will be featuring apparently two Superman villains, a cameo of Wonder Woman and is quickly reshaping our initial thoughts of the Justice League knock off we were talking about earlier. It is becoming evident that Affleck’s Batman and Gadot’s Wonder Woman may only be featured in the sequel as a backdoor initialisation of their own solo-franchises and to subsequently establish a firm cinematic universe, which, I for one, am all for. This IS a Superman film at heart, ladies and gentlemen, try not to forget that. Going back Luthor, those earlier reports of Bryan Cranston could well be true. Amasian claim the Breaking Bad actor has been paid big bucks to assure he takes the role.
And finally, Game of Thrones and CONAN THE BARBARIAN star, Jason Mamoa is in talks to join the cast following earlier reports, perhaps as the secondary villain, but speculation has already suggested that he might be going for Martian Manhunter or Aquaman, both of which have been unequivocally denied given they aren’t going to be in the film. To summarise: No Martians, no Atlanteans (yet!). Give us your thoughts on all of this recent news in the comments section below.
Production for BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN/MAN OF STEEL 2 is set to begin next month and is set for release on 15th July, 2015. The film is once again directed by Zack Snyder and will feature the likes of Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Diane Lane and Lawrence Fishburne.
