Probably the biggest news of the day is that Sylvester Stallone has revealed that he will not be directing the sequel to last year’s massive hit movie THE EXPENDABLES.
Speaking to 24 Frames, the actor/ writer/ director revealed that he will also not be writing the film, leaving it to SPACE COWBOYS and CURIOUS GEORGE scripters David Agosto and Ken Kaufman.
The original movie, despite getting luke warm reviews upon it’s initial release, made just under $275 million at the international box-office. Stallone wrote, directed and starred in the movie, but it looks lke his only role in the sequel will be the latter one, as well as possibly producing.
There are no other names attached to the project at present, but the directing vacancy is currently out to prospective helmers.
