Director John Curran’s upcoming drama staring STOKER’s Mia Wasikowska has released its first UK trailer. The film, adapted from the memoirs of Robyn Davidson, tells the story of the author’s 9 month camel journey across 2000 miles of Australian desert. Which was probably a bit of a bitch. Luckily she manages to take comfort in the few friends she meets along the road, one of whom being photographer Rick Smolan (Adam Driver) who we see her canoodling with in the trailer. It certainly makes it look as if a feet blistering, insanity provoking trip through the hot hot dessert is a lot of fun.
While it may come off as cheesy with its inspirational music and overwhelmingly positive outlook, the film itself has talent in the right places and hopefully a grittiness and depth that isn’t seen in the trailer. Check it out for yourself below:
Tracks also stars Emma Booth, Rainer Bock, Jessica Tovey, Melani Zanetti and Robert Coleby. It sandstorms its way into UK cinemas on the 25th of April 2014.
