Sullivan Stapleton In Latest ‘300: Rise Of An Empire’ Posters

Warner Bros. has just revealed the latest posters for Noam Murros’ follow-up to 2007’s chroma-keyed 300 – and they’re as bloody as the previous images. Based on an incomplete Frank Miller comic, 300: RISE OF AN EMPIRE charts the history of the Greco-Persian wars further.

The posters features Sullivan Stapleton bringing down his sword, blood flying from the blade.

Sullivan plays Greek general, Themistocles while Rodrigo Santoro reprises his role as the mesmerising but creepy Xerxes. Eva Green joins the cast as Artemisia, an ally of the Persian King. Green is also featuring in another Frank Miller adaptation, SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR, this year.

The events in 300: RISE OF AN EMPIRE run roughly concurrent with the legendary events in the first film, when a Spartan army of 300 stood against the Persians at the Battle of Thermopylae. This second instalment moves the action to the sea with a naval battle. We’ll also learn more about the “God King” Xerxes.

300: RISE OF AN EMPIRE is released in 2D, 3D and IMAX March 7.
