Michael Pitt Joins ‘Hannibal’

Hannibal

The wait for Season 2 of Hannibal is nearly over. We’ve already been treated to a promo trailer and now news that Michael Pitt, fresh from Boardwalk Empire, will be joining the cast in a major role.

Pitt will be playing Mason Verger, one of Dr. Lecter’s patients who tries to manipulate the doctor. We can already imagine how that’s going to end… You may remember Mason as a horrendously disfigured Gary Oldman in HANNIBAL, the big screen rendition of Thomas Harris’ bestselling novel. The series is set earlier than the films, so we’ll have to wait and see exactly what NBC has in store for Mason.

Season 2 sees criminal profiler Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) still in police custody, while the wily Dr. Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen) continues to advise the FBI on murder cases. Laurence Fishburne, Caroline Dhavernas and Hettienne Park also star.

Hannibal returns to screens in the US February 28 with the episode “Kaiseki”.
