As you may or may not know, THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE VOYAGE OF THE DAWN TREADER is about to arrive on the home formats on both sides of the Atlantic, and the PR machine to promote the movie is working overtime both here and across the pond.
In London’s St. Katherine’s Dock this past weekend, a full size replica of the Dawn Treader itself rocked up. Oh yes, you read that right. FULL SIZE. Complete with a dragon head bow, and the tail of a dragon as a stern, this replica is 78′ (23.7m) long with a beam of 20’6″ (6.3m), a draft of 7′ (2.1m) and 2,360 sq ft (219m2) of sail. We have pics below. The film is released on DVD and Blu-ray in the UK on 18th April.
Also, over in New York City, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment and Macy’s are going to host an afternoon of family fun to celebrate the April 8th US release of the film over there. The event will be held at Macy’s Flower Show at Herald Square, customers who make a purchase of $50 or more in ‘Kids’ (I take it that’s anything in the Kids department, will receive a Narnia goodie bag that will include a copy of the newly-released The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader DVD. A full day of activities will include activity stations, coloring stations and readings from the book. The action kicks off at 2pm on 9th April, the day after it’s US release, on the 7th floor at Macy’s Herald Square. So, if you are in NYC, go check it out.
