Not content with having a great few years, Brit actor Nicholas Hoult is continuing to pick up big roles and now he’s set to take on Iraqi war thriller SAND CASTLE.

It’s the first-time feature for Director Seb Edwards, who’s been working on commercials for the likes of Adidas and Nike. So although this is a big task, he’s definitely got the credentials for the big time. The film is written by Chris Roessner and it hit that ever-special 2012 Black List for highly wanted screenplays that hadn’t picked up a producer. However, Roessner now has Mark Gordon getting on board to take the project to the masses and he also was behind SAVING PRIVATE RYAN, so this is all looking good.

SAND CASTLE tells Roessner’s story of two years and over 200 missions as a machine gunner in Iraq’s Sunni Triangle. It’ll focus around Matt Ocre (Hoult’s role) and his platoon leader Sergeant Baker, as they protect Baqubah, a farming village.

It’s very early days in the production, so there’s no more news at the moment but we’ll bring it to you as soon as we have it!
