Tom Baker Looking Forward To Classic ‘Doctor Who’ On Horror Channel

Tom Baker - Doctor Who -1

He made the most heart-warming appearance in the ‘Day of the Doctor‘ special Who episode last year and so we’re just as excited as him to hear that he’s up for some classic episodes of the famous Doctor, due to screen on the Horror Channel in the UK this April.

After they completed a deal with BBC Worldwide, the channel will broadcast 30 stories from the Classic series which ran 1963 to 1989 and features the first seven Doctors, starting with William Hartnell and concluding with Sylvester McCoy. The iconic fourth Doctor had this to say:

“Horror is my very favourite genre, so I am thrilled the classic Doctor Who series have been picked up by the Horror Channel. There was clearly a darker edge to my storylines, which I think brought a new dimension to the series. I remember hearing of the series scaring children – I wonder how the audience will react to the series today, all grown up.

When asked about his favourite episodes, he said:

“The Horror of Fang Rock’ is one of my favourite stories so I’m looking forward to that one!”

The amazing marathon of tales begin on Friday 18th April (Good Friday) and start with the very first story ‘An Unearthly Child‘, and then leads into a special WHO ON HORROR weekend. That classic collection will show us one story from each of the Doctors across the Easter weekend.

There will then be weekday double-bills in daytime and evening slots with stories shown in chronological order starting on Easter Monday 21st April. Not bad at all, right? For more information, just click the links below and we’ll be there with you!
