Last night, I had the opportunity to stand amongst the glitterati at what should be the very last awards ceremony (and perhaps the best), the 2011 Jameson Empire Awards, which took place at the rather swanky Grosvenor House Hotel just off of London’s Park Lane. The event as always attracted big names that included James McAvoy, Keira Knightley, Jane Goldman, Jonathan Ross, Mark Strong, Tom Felton, Edgar Wright, Colin Firth and Gary Oldman, who received the Icon award.
I was positioned on the end of the red carpet next to a swarm of what possibly could have been fifty to sixty photographers who were, let’s say, not very quiet as the a-listers walked on by. I grabbed who I could as they passed on by and attempted to extract as much as I could from each. What follows is my 10-minute montage from the evening, and apologies in advance for the sound quality as our mic was drowned out by the many press photographers shouting nearby.
Enjoy, and check back for more Empire Awards 2011 coverage including all of the winners from the night.
