Ladies and gentlemen, whether you like it or not…Neil Patrick Harris as Hedwig! Yes, with How I Met Your Mother ending in the States Harris has quickly moved back to the stage, with Hedwig And The Angry Inch now in preview stages. But after months of waiting we FINALLY get to see Harris in the full Hedwig gear, high heels and all!
Hedwig And The Angry Inch tells the story of a fictional punk rock band fronted by a transgendered singer from East Berlin. John Cameron Mitchell, who also wrote the text for the musical, originally starred as Hedwig when the show premiered in 1998. He also went on to star and direct the film adaptation that was released in 2001.
While there is some elements of the original Hedwig in there (still loving the blonde hair!) it seems like Harris is definitely holding his own. In the image you can also see Lena Hall, who plays Yitzhak, in her full stage outfit. Harris will be backed by the house band Tits Of Clay.
