With both Anakin and Luke Skywalker, two of the most significant Jedi, growing up on Tatooine, the planet is arguably one of the most important planets in the STAR WARS universe. A new report has confirmed that the production team will recreate Anakin and Luke’s desert home planet in Morocco, however, Disney have not commented on anything thus far.
What is going to happen on Tatooine hasn’t been revealed as of yet, however with J.J. Abrams including the it, it can only mean that something big will be happening on the desert planet.
The original Tatooine was primarily filmed in Tunisia, however there are some standing sets still in Morroco from previous STAR WARS shoots. You can’t help but hope that J.J. Abrams will be using these sets, there would be a great sense of nostalgia for any fans of the originals.
Now that the shooting has started, we can all hope that Disney will start giving us some more information! STAR WARS: EPISODE VII is scheduled to be hitting the big screens at the end of 2015 and the cast has not yet been confirmed. If you want my opinion, Star Wars Day (May 4th) is when we are going to be hearing the biggest news on STAR WARS: EPISODE VII.
