The most famous ladies in comedy, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, are reuniting for Universal’s THE NEST. Fey has been attached to the project for quite some time now, as one half of a pair of sisters who, after learning their family home is to be put up for sale, decide to spend one last weekend there. Poehler is now confirmed as joining the cast, and we can only hope it’s as Fey’s sister.
Despite a long working relationship with each on hit US comedy show SNL (Saturday Night Live), the pair have only really starred in one motion-picture together as the leads. That was 2008’s BABY MAMA. The pair both appeared in MEAN GIRLS, but never shared a scene, and both had uncredited cameos in ANCHORMAN 2: THE LEGEND CONTINUES. Most recently the pair co-hosted The Golden Globes.
THE NEST is written by another SNL veteran, Paula Pell, and will be directed by PITCH PERFECT’s Jason Moore. WIth a lot of talent behind it, we can but hope that Fey and Poehler will be able to take the simple plot and be able to let there chemistry run wild.
