Hollywood heavyweight Sharon Stone has joined the cast of action comedy AMERICAN ULTRA.
Jesse Eisenberg (THE SOCIAL NETWORK) stars as Mike, a hapless, lazy stoner, happy with his boring life with girlfriend Phoebe (Kristen Stewart – TWILIGHT). However, unknown to Mike and everyone around him he’s actually a secret agent. When his past flashes before his eyes the realities of the responsibility of his power surface, especially when he’s called in to support a deadly government operation. Co-starring Topher Grace (That ’70s Show), John Leguizamo (KICK-ASS 2), Tony Hale (Arrested Development), Bill Pullman (INDEPENDENCE DAY) and Walton Goggins (DJANGO UNCHAINED), Stone joins the cast as Victoria Lasseter.
With Nima Nourizadeh (PROJECT X) directing and Max Landis (CHRONICLE) behind the script this could go either way – brilliantly witty and action-packed…or a little lacklustre. We’ll have to wait and see.
AMERICAN ULTRA is already in production. It currently has an estimated release date of 2015.
