In what appears to be another found-footage type horror/thriller, we’ve got the first trailer for the intriguing looking AS ABOVE, SO BELOW but – saying that – upon watching it you’ll find that it appears to twist it a little more than usual, which would be a welcome change!
Starring Perdita Weeks, Ben Feldman, Edwin Hodge, François Civil and Marion Lambert, the film takes place in the miles of twisting catacombs that lie beneath the streets of Paris. When a team of explorers ventures into the uncharted maze of bones, they uncover the secret of what this city of the dead was meant to contain, and so an intense psychological journey begins.
For those (possibly) wondering about the title, AS ABOVE, SO BELOW is from Hermeticism and those words are often found among the magical and occult. It also delves towards microcosm and macrocosm, which basically means that everything is understood within itself…but anyway, you’re here for the intriguing trailer so enjoy and take a look at the first images below:
AS ABOVE, SO BELOW is written by John Erick Dowdle and Drew Dowdle, and directed by John Erick Dowdle who were both also behind QUARANTINE and DEVIL. It’s currently set for a UK and USA release on August 15th.
