Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez’s follow up to their sublime SIN CITY has been a long time coming – nine years, in fact – but if the first trailer is anything to go by, we’re in for more of the same visually stunning tales of murky morals and vile villains.
While the film will be full of new characters and actors, the two latest posters focus purely on familiar faces – with Mickey Rourke’s Marv and Jessica Alba’s Nancy taking centre stage. The film itself will revolve around Dwight (Josh Brolin, above, taking over from Clive Owen in the original), whose world falls to pieces as he is hunted down by the only woman he ever loved, Ava Lord (Eva Green).
It’s great to see true progress on Miller’s adaptation of his own graphic novel, as the project had been gestating for years – but sometimes that’s just how long it takes to get the story right, and if the film benefits from it, then you’ll hear no complaints from us.
