Vikings are kind of cool these days. They may not be as in demand as Pirates were following that Johnny Depp led franchise, but they’re still pretty awesome. This can be seen in films such as VIKINGDOM and the TV series Vikings both released over the last year or so. Now we have even more Nordic seafarers in the form of NORTHMEN: A VIKING SAGA, which seems to have added a subtitle so there is no confusion as to what the film is about.
This Swiss, German, South African co-production sees a bunch of vikings stranded on land and facing many challenges along the way, most which involve yelling, screaming and shouting. The end of the trailer is slightly comical as it comes across as a supercut of people yelling, but other than that it looks like a fairly exciting period piece with many beautiful shooting locations to show off. Claudio Fah, director of HOLLOW MAN II, helms the action.
NORTHMEN: A VIKING SAGA, is still awaiting a UK and US release date. It stars Tom Hopper, Ryan Kwanten, Ken Duken, Charlie Murphy, Ed Skrein, Anatole Taubman and Johan Hegg.
