Fan girls around the planet will be jumping around with utter happiness as it was announced Benedict Cumberbatch will be replacing Guy Pearce to act alongside Hollywood movie star, Johnny Depp.
Directed by Scott Cooper who bought us CRAZY HEART, BLACK MASS is the true story of Senator Billy Bulger (Cumberbatch) and his brother Whitey Bulger (Depp), a Boston crime leader that makes a dirty deal with an old friend who is a major FBI figure. Based on Dick Lehr and Gerard O’Neill’s book “Black Mass: The True Story of an Unholy Alliance Between the FBI and the Irish Mob“, Cumberbatch’s character apparently wasn’t aware of his brother’s dealings which shall be interesting to see onscreen.
With so many projects Cumberbatch is taking on including FLYING HORSES and MAGIK you would think we might end up getting sick of the actor but its doubtful that will happen anytime soon – unless we don’t get SHERLOCK Series 4!
Sienna Miller and Scott Cooper are also in BLACK MASS due to be released 2015.
