Gary Oldman enjoyed filming ‘The Book Of Eli’.
The British-born actor, who is famed for his bad guy roles, said that playing Carnegie in the movie was a personal career favourite.
He revealed: “I have worked on a lot of films with a lot of people, and this was one of the most enjoyable gigs I’ve had. I loved working with the people. I liked New Mexico very much.
“I thought it was a great location, and I’d never really spent any amount of time in that neighborhood. I thought the landscape was great to look at and for the shoot, and it was a friendly place.”
The 51-year-old ‘Fifth Element’ star also revealed that he didn’t think of Carnegie as such a brutal character.
He told Popstar.com: “Given the situation, given the time and where they are and what has happened, I see him as really just a survivor. He’s got great character and ingenuity.
“It’s a whole different way that they’re living. We sit here now, in 2010, and look at this 30, 40 years on and think, “Well, that’s barbaric.” But, really, in the film’s reality it’s the survival of the fittest.”
