‘Better Call Saul’ Releases “Jimmy McGill” Billboard

One big and recent surprise from the Better Call Saul stable was the revelation that Bob Odenkirk’s Saul won’t be called Saul. Instead he will be Jimmy McGill and now here’s the honourable gent himself in this new image circa 2002. By the way the number is the genuine article – though this billboard forms part of an upcoming episode, calling Mr McGill results in the following high-pitched message.

Like many I was concerned a spin-off to such a finely-wrought series would taint the legacy, but on this evidence we’re in safe hands. Creators Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould have wisely thrown Jonathan Banks’ Mike Ehrmantraut into the mix and the prospect of our central character going on a Walter White-style journey certainly intrigues. Not so much Breaking Bad as Breaking The Bar.
