It’s not much, but what we’ve heard has the potential for huge implications. According to an extra who worked on-set for Snyder’s BATMAN V. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE for almost two weeks, the ending has already been filmed, but take this and the following with a huge pinch of salt:
One of the scenes shot featured Batman breaking into Lexcorp to steal Kryptonite, and apparently Lexcorp had somehow gotten ahold of General Zod’s body.
He then goes on to talk about the timeframe of the film, and that is actually continues straight from where MAN OF STEEL left off, if not just before:
As the battle between Superman and General Zod ends or is ending (which would explain all the damaged buildings and vehicles we’ve been seeing in photos) and Batman/Bruce Wayne is attempting to make his way to the Wayne tower in Metropolis.
Now who completely knows how much of this is true. In MAN OF STEEL, Snyder was insistent on avoiding Kryptonite as a means of convenient conflict creation, but now that the character of Superman has been effectively humanised, whilst also been depicted to have incredible god-tier power, perhaps Kryptonite will be introduced in the sequel as a means of disarming the Man of Steel.
Who knows what the future holds, perhaps Luthor will utilise Zod’s genetic code and attempt to replicate himself a Kryptonian, inadvertently creating Doomsday, he’d be a pretty suitable first threat for the newly established JUSTICE LEAGUE, wouldn’t he? I think so, considering he’s killed Superman before. Oh, and remember, Kryptonians turned to “scientific engineering” for reproduction, NOT natural reproduction, which is why Kal-El was so special, even on Krypton.
