Attack On Titan became such a phenomena that fans didn’t exactly wait around for a dub. And why would they? Nobody wants to become slapped with a spoiler, and fans of the show not up to date with the manga already have that to deal with. However, the DVD and Blu-ray release will certainly appeal to many fans and new people interested in the incredibly popular series.
WIth Erin now facing trial for the amazing power of turning into a titan, the show continues with its shocks and brilliant twists. Erin is taken on by the Scout Regiment, but they are soon pursued by their greatest foe yet, a female titan who may also be a human. This mystery propels this set of episodes into a much different and even more engaging story. It also retains the intensity and unpredictability of characters’ fates. The constant running, as the female titan charges towards her target, may not sound that exciting, but the animation captures some of the best action sequences on TV or film.
Although the vacant and sinister titans are one of the highlights of the show, having a meticulous tactician among their ranks also makes this a scary escalation in terms of what is at risk. Even after we receive some of the answers, many questions remain. Not all the plot strands add up to something challenging and addictive, as we are also faced with a religious group who worship the walls surrounding the surviving humans. This seems forced and rushed, and is unsubtle nonsense at this point, although it may pick up in later seasons, but as it stands it is a poor distraction.
Attack On Titan may not be the incredibly unique experience it seems to be hailed as, but it is one of the best animes running at this time. Animation it may be, but this excellent series has fully fleshed out characters, dramatic turns, and a sense of excitement missing from the majority of today’s blockbusters. Even with the bloated exposition and lengthy dialogue during action sequences, this still ends up being a show more and more people will soon sink their teeth into.
