The new STRAW DOGS trailer has been released, and sets to spark the debate as to whether it can have the same impact as the 1971 Sam Peckinpah original.
The revenge-thriller tells the story of David (Jamess Marsden) and Amy (kate Bosworth), whose new dream home turns into the stuff of nightmares when it’s invaded by a group of local nutjobs, led by TRUE BLOOD’s Alexander Skarsgard.
The original – which starred Dustin Hoffman and Susan George – was notorious for its extreme violence and scenes of rape. Whether the new version can drum up the same amount of controversy remains to be seen, but from this trailer it’s clear that the new version – directed by Rob Lurie – promises to be a dark and tense affair.
