Head To The Clouds In First Trailer For ‘The Walk’

Vertigo sufferers be warned, the first trailer for THE WALK is here. The film stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Philippe Petit; the story following his attempt to walk a tightrope wire between the World Trade Towers. Directed by Robert Zemeckis, THE WALK has interestingly been shot in IMAX3D, the intention clearly to immerse the viewer in the challenge. This extra viewing element will surely see those not with a head for heights clutching onto their cinema seats for safety.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt took to his Facebook page yesterday to share his enthusiasm for the project:

Here’s the first teaser trailer for The Walk. Robert Zemeckis directed this movie. His resume includes Back To The Future, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Forrest Gump, Cast Away, Flight, and a ton of other ones I love. (Death Becomes Her). His movies are always visually spectacular, but he also gives you what a lot of other eye-candy movies often don’t — a story about characters you can sincerely care about. I loved every minute of working for him, and I expected this movie to come together well because of him. But I gotta say, even I’m pretty astonished at how good these shots of 1974 NYC and the World Trade Center towers look. Movie’s coming out next October, so this definitely won’t be the last time you hear me talk about it, but I’m really excited to show you guys this first look…

It really is a very tease-heavy trailer, but there is still a year until release so we can expect to see a lot more in the coming months.

THE WALK is out in cinemas from October 2015.
