Director Ron Howard has reunited with his RUSH star Chris Hemsworth for his latest IN THE HEART OF THE SEA.
Adapted from Nathaniel Philbrick’s novel In the Heart of the Sea: The Tragedy of the Whaleship Essex by Charles Leavitt, the film follows the 1819 accounts of Essex first mate Owen Chase’s (Hemsworth) and cabin boy Thomas Nickerson’s (played by Tom Holland as the younger and Brendan Gleeson as the elder) encounter with a sperm whale that preyed upon their ship and stranding them at sea for 90 days.
It looks like its beautifully shot by Academy Award winner Anthony Dod Mantle, who also worked with Howard and Hemsworth on RUSH.
