The Three Musketeers will ride again!

Another day, another article about another planned reboot. This time said reboot is for a new Three Musketeers adventure. The guy behind the new movie is the creative force behind Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes movie at Warner Brothers, Lionel Wigram.

Peter Straughan, the scribe who scripted The Men Who Stare At Goats, is adapting the new version of the classic Alexandre Dumas story.

Variety reports:

“The Three Musketeers” tells the story of hot-headed D’Artagnan as he joins forces with three veteran musketeers to battle the villainous Cardinal Richelieu. Also in the mix is the mysterious figure of Milady.

Straughan’s script will play up the action and sexier elements of the story much the same way that Wigram, who co-wrote and produced “Sherlock Holmes,” reimagined the detective (limned by Robert Downey Jr.) as a bare-knuckle boxing, martial-arts savvy sleuth.
