HANNIBAL star Madds Mikkelsen finds himself embroiled in a New World showdown in the latest trailer released by IFC Films.
Ticking all the boxes for a classic Western tale, THE SALVATION sees Danish ex-soldier Jon (Mikkelsen) experience the untamed savagery of the New World when his family is brutally murdered by a pair of convicts on the same day that they arrive. After seeking vengeance, Jon finds himself the target of notorious gang leader Delarue (played by WATCHMEN star Jeffrey Dean Morgan), whose brother was one of the convicts who killed Jon’s family.
Directed by Kristian Levring who also co-wrote the script with fellow Dane Anders Thomas Jensen, THE SALVATION found a home at Universal Pictures International Entertainment who acquired the feature at TIFF ISA last September. Distributed by IFC Films, the film also stars Eva Green, Eric Cantona, and Mikael Persbrandt (THE HOBBIT: THE BATTLE OF THE FIVE ARMIES).
