With Netflix’ Daredevil currently taking the world by storm, it appears that Marvel Studios have done it again. After numerous box office hits such as IRON MAN, AVENGERS ASSEMBLE, CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER and GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, many believed that the superhero powerhouse were doomed to make a misstep sooner or later. However, for the moment that doesn’t seem to be the case, with Daredevil offering fans something fresh in the form of a darker comic adaptation set within the ever-expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe.
This has certainly been music to the ears of die-hard Marvel enthusiasts worrying about a potential relapse of Ben Affleck’s 2003 film adaptation. In fact, the gritty tone, aggressive stunt choreography and darker narrative structure could be seen as Marvel’s answer to Warner Bros’ current method of adapting their large library of comic book characters. With Daredevil seemingly accomplishing the impossible by increasing Marvel Studios’ versatility in their adaptation’s, fans will no doubt be looking ahead to A.K.A. Jessica Jones later this year.
