Banned from a Vegas blackjack table in 2014

In May 2014, Affleck was banned from the blackjack table at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.  When asked about the incident in an interview with Details magazine, Affleck was quick to defend his honour.  Claiming that after spending a long time getting to know the rules of the game he gradually became a stronger player, he said: “Once I became decent, the casinos asked me not to play blackjack.  I mean, the fact that being good at the game is against the rules at the casinos should tell you something about casinos.”

Affleck was quick to defend his honour

Whilst Affleck was not fond of other forms of gambling, he remains fond of blackjack.  Eschewing claims that he is addicted to gambling, Affleck responded directly to the stories reporting them by calling them “lies” and “false.”  Undoubtedly, it must be hard to maintain a decent poker face without being hassled by fans whilst enjoying a game in a public casino.  Had Affleck been playing online, using a Site like Slotocash, where nobody would know about his celebrity status, it seems unlikely to have been an issue at all.

Is his reputation the problem?

Official reports of the incident at the casino, however, offer a slightly different version of events to Affleck’s claims that it was just his talent which the casino took offence to.  Affleck was reportedly asked to stop playing blackjack after being accused of “advantage play” and whilst counting cards is not technically illegal it is sometimes considered cheating by other players.  His reputation preceded him following the incident in Las Vegas to another casino in Ontario, where he is alleged to have been asked to leave by security guards in May 2014.  Regardless of the veracity of these reports, the constant unfavourable media attention is bound to have caused the couple some stress.  Hopefully if that is the case, Affleck may consider switching to online blackjack until the drama has died down.
