Matt Damon is currently doing the press rounds for The Martian, which starts to open in cinemas from next week (we hope to have a full review for you over the weekend), and while doing said tour, spilled some beans on the fifth film in the Bourne franchise, which he’s currently shooting with director Paul Greengrass.
Here’s what he had to say about Bourne 5 to the folks over at the NY Daily News.
“[Bourne] has his memory back, but that doesn’t mean he knows everything. It’s 12 years since Jason Bourne has been on the grid. So we have to answer the questions, Where’s he been? What’s he doing? What gets him going again? So once we solved all that, then we had a movie.”
We’re guessing that shooting will resume with Damon on Bourne 5, or whatever they decide to call it, within the next couple of weeks when all of the promotional stuff for The Martian is out of the way.
Julia Stiles return for another adventure, and joining the team this time around is Tommy Lee Jones as a veteran CIA agent, Vincent Cassel (Black Swan) as an assassin on the tail of Bourne, and Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina).
The film is scheduled for release on July 29th, 2016.
