Enchanted 2 is still in the works over at Disney, but they’ve given it a new title.
Enchanted 2 becomes Disenchanted
Enchanted 2 will still happen, according to Collider, though will be known under a different name.
The 2007 movie Enchanted was really well received. Starring Amy Adams, James Marsden and Patrick Dempsey, the film, which revolved around a princess who crosses from the animated world into the real world, featured some fantastic songs, a great story and a huge heart. Enchanted 2 has been in the works at Disney for ages, but it had gone off the boil very recently.
The great news is that the film is still being planned with The Proposal‘s Anne Fletcher directing. The film will now be known as Disenchanted, and Jessie Nelson (Fred Claus) will be re-doing the screenplay.
We don’t know a lot more than that, but it’s great news that the studio are pushing forward with a sequel after all of these years.
Enchanted grossed over $340 million at cinemas around the world, and bagged itself three Oscars, including one for Alan Menken who did the brilliant music work in the movie.

Banished by an evil queen, Princess Giselle (Amy Adams) from a fairy-tale world lands in modern Manhattan, where music, magic and “happily ever after” are sorely lacking. She is adrift in this strange new place until a divorce lawyer (Patrick Dempsey) comes to her aid. Giselle begins to fall for her flawed benefactor, but the storybook romance gets complicated when a prince from her world comes to rescue her.
