The upcoming Captain America: Civil War looks to be one of the biggest movies of 2016 – in fact, it’s almost like a new Avengers movie, what with all of the Avengers (pretty much) present… The villain from the film, Daniel Bruhl, has been doing a little press, and has commented to Business Insider that his character of Baron Zemo will be without his trademark purple mask – in fact the character will be very different to what we’re familiar with…
“He does not wear the mask,”
“That’s what I like about the Marvel guys, some of the characters and things they’re dealing with always reference to current events so my character is from a different area than you would think.” He said.
That’s not to say that the character may return for future movies. Bruhl also says “there’s a possibility” that he could return as Zemo for future movies since “that’s the way it’s written.”
Captain America: Civil War is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo from a screenplay by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely. It is set to feature the return of Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America, this time joined in his “solo” film by fellow Avengers Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Falcon, Paul Bettany as The Vision, Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye, Don Cheadle as Jim Rhodes/War Machine and Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch.
Sebastian Stan will also be back as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier alongside Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa/Black Panther, Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter/Agent 13, Daniel Brühl as Baron Helmut Zemo, Frank Grillo as Brock Rumlow/Crossbones, William Hurt as General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, and Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man.
Captain America: Civil War will be released on May 6th, 2016.
