You may think Hollywood has gone stark raving mad, or more than usual at least, with the concept of a William Shakespeare conspiracy film looking at who ‘really’ wrote his plays. I know that doesn’t sound to crazy but mix in information that Roland Emmerich is the director and then you’ll understand.
Not many people might know the director’s name but you damn well sure know his films which include; 2012, 10,000 BC, GODZILLA and INDEPENDENCE DAY. So now, he’s attempting the Immortal Baird, but, actually it looks pretty decent. Here’s the synopsis from the Toronto Film Festival website where the film will be premièring:

The film stars Rhys Ifans as Edward de Vere, Vanessa Redgrave as Queen Elizabeth I and Rafe Spall as William Shakespeare. Judge for yourself and let us know if this is genius or heresy.
