Bridget Jones’s Baby pics: The first official images from the third movie in the popular series have arrived.
A whole bunch of Bridget Jones’s Baby pics have landed online ahead of its 2016 release. The film, which is still in production, sees Renée Zellweger reprise her role as Bridget, alongside fellow returnee Colin Firth as love interest Mark Darcy, and newcomer to the franchise, Patrick Dempsey. The Bridget Jones’s Baby pics came online late on Monday after appearing on Entertainment Weekly’s website. These are the first we’ve seen since the announcement of the film a little while back.
The film comes to the screen from Universal Pictures and Working Title, both of whom are keeping very Mum as to any plot detail, but we’re sure that the film will involve Bridget popping a sprog at some point during.
“There are various mysteries to be resolved,” says Colin Firth to the magazine. “Who does she end up with? Whose baby is it? You can resolve one and make the other a question. Those are things which might not be revealed until very later on. I rather like it. It’s not often you have something where you have the possibility of keeping a surprise.”
Sharon Maguire, who directed the first movie in the series back in 2001, returns to helm the second sequel. Maguire co-wrote the screenplay with David Nicholls (One Day).

“This is part of the new challenge, discovering where Bridget is now in her new life,” said Zellweger of the film.
“I love all these characters. I love her world and her family and her friends,” she added. “I like that she tells stories about what it’s like to be a woman.”
So what else do we know of the movie? Well, we do know that everyone’s favourite carrot-topped singer Ed Sheeran will be making an appearance, though again, we’re not quite sure who he will be playing. One thing that we do know is that Hugh Grant, who appeared in the last two movies, definitely won’t be back for a third time.
Bridget Jones’s Baby will release in September 2016.
