I have mixed feelings about this upcoming remake of the 1970s movie STRAW DOGS. Actually, scratch that. I only know about the original because of the controversy that surrounded it (the film has a very prolonged rape scene in the middle of it). Was it really all that? I will have to go back and take a look. We are hearing that this remake from filmmaker Rod Lurie is actually a bit of an unexpected gem. James Marsden, Kate Bosworth, Alexander Skarsgård and Dominic Purcell star.
L.A. screenwriter David Sumner (Marsden) relocates with his wife to her hometown in the deep South. While tensions build between them, a brewing conflict with the locals becomes a big threat to them both.
