Ben Affleck possibly directing and starring in Line Of Sight

THR is reporting that actor/director Ben Affleck is in talks to star and direct the thriller LINE OF SIGHT.

The Warner Brothers production, set for a 2013 release, focuses on a ‘commando squad transporting cargo while dealing with a global threat.’ The story is told through the first person point-of-view much like the Call of Duty computer game franchise. The film is even more geared towards the computer game concept with a recent re-draft of the script from Peter O’Brien the writer behind the Xbox 360 game Halo: Reach.

The project is produced by Joel Silver over at Silver Productions, with a script originally written by F. Scott Frazier (another computer game writer).

Ben Affleck is a busy boy at the moment as he has just began filming ARGO, a thriller set during the Iran hostage crisis, starring himself, Bryan Cranston (BREAKING BAD), John Goodman (RED STATE), Clea DuVall (THE FACULTY), Zeljko Ivanek (HEROES) and Titus Welliver (THE GOOD WIFE).

Of course this is not the first time a Hollywood film has tried to utilise the first person shooter, with most memorably being with DOOM, which… well… didn’t work. But with someone as adept as Affleck is at the helm, maybe things will be different.

Paul finished is BA in Film & Broadcast Productions during the summer and has somehow landed the position of Media & Marketing Manager in the London Korean Film Festival happening this November (plug). While at University Paul found his speciality lay in Script Development, scriptwriting and Editing. He has written, edited and director a small number of not very good short films but does not let that dissuade him from powering through. After the Koreans are through with him he looks to enter the paid world of Script Development. He likes incredibly bad horror films, East Asian movies, comics and lots of other stuff.
