Hangover’s Ed Helms cast in remake of French film Le Mac!

Variety are reporting that star of HANGOVER and CEDAR RAPIDS, Ed Helms, will star in remake of French film LE MAC.

The film which has been picked up by Ben Stiller’s production company, Red Hour Films, from a pitch by BAD SANTA 2 writer, Johnny Rosenthal. The original film, directed by Pascal Bourdiaux and starring Gilbert Melki (ANGEL A) showed the adventures of a “mild-mannered banker forced to masquerade as a notorious gangster and pimp.”

Of course, this is the perfect type of role for Ed Helms with the actor building out a success career with this ‘fish out of water’ story seen in HANGOVER. Hopefully the actor will not be overshadowed as he did in CEDAR RAPIDS, his first leading role by John C. Reilly, the supporting character.

The film is still in the writing stage so it won’t be out sometime late 2012.

Paul finished is BA in Film & Broadcast Productions during the summer and has somehow landed the position of Media & Marketing Manager in the London Korean Film Festival happening this November (plug). While at University Paul found his speciality lay in Script Development, scriptwriting and Editing. He has written, edited and director a small number of not very good short films but does not let that dissuade him from powering through. After the Koreans are through with him he looks to enter the paid world of Script Development. He likes incredibly bad horror films, East Asian movies, comics and lots of other stuff.
