His latest film Midnight Special premiered favourably on Friday, and we gave it a massive thumbs up too, and it looks like the sun is shining down on Jeff Nichols, as his next film Loving, which also stars ‘Midnight’ actor Joel Edgerton, has been sold at Berlin.

According to Screen Daily, Nichols’ forthcoming interracial love story has been bought for $9 million by Focus Features, who will distribute in North America, and in major territories around the world.

The film, which is still in production, also stars Nichols regular Michael Shannon and Ruth Negga. The story revolves around Edgerton and Negga’s characters, the Lovings, who, after marrying, were sent to prison for doing so in 1958.
