When news broke about a new Predator film last year we were a little dubious. Then we heard that Shane Black would be at the helm and we relaxed a little. Not only is he the man behind Iron Man 3, Lethal Weapon and Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang, he also starred in the original movie alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Black and co-writer Fred Dekker have been working on the project since 2014. We were promised an “inventive sequel” rather than a straight remake and the films producer John Davis has been gushing about the production:
“The writing is so fresh, the perspective is so fresh. I’m telling you, you’re going to get something you don’t expect and you’re going to say, ‘This is the most entertaining way to reinvent a franchise.’”
Well now we have our first look as a teaser image has arrived on the films official Facebook page.
The image also also contains the title ‘The Predator’ which may or may not be the new name. Sadly we don’t have a release date yet but with the promotional material starting to filter into the world, we doubt it will be long before we have one.
