Devon Terrell has been cast as a young Barack Obama in the planned biographical film Barry, so reports The Hollywood Reporter. The movie will be set in 1981, and will also feature the talents of Anya Taylor-Joy, who can currently be seen in the horror movie The Witch.
Barry explores the time when Obama (Terrell) was a college student in New York City and forged key relationships, including with a fellow student (Taylor-Joy).
Vikram Gandhi will direct the film, which expected to start shooting next month. Black Bear Pictures are behind the film, the company that brought the Alan Turing biopic The Imitation Game to screens a couple of years back.
Adam Mansbach wrote the script.
