Mummy set photos: Tom Cruise hits Oxford, England to shoot the new monster flick.

Some Mummy set photos have found their way online. Tom Cruise is now filming the reboot of the monster movie The Mummy in Oxford, England.

Tom Cruise has been seen in the city of Oxford in the heart of England these past couple of days, where shooting on the Universal-backed movie has been taking place. As well as Cruise, the cast also boasts Kingsman: The Secret Service’s Sofia Boutella. Annabelle Wallis is also in the forthcoming film, which is being directed by Alex Kurtzman. The Mummy will be set in the modern day with Wallis playing an archaeologist, opposite Cruise’s special forces solider.

The film will be the first in a series of new monster movies that will create a new ‘Monsters’ universe for the studio. Films featuring Dracula, Frankenstein, The Wolfman etc. are expected in the years to come.

According to the local press, Cruise took time out to meet and greet in Radcliffe Square and was also spotted in Catte Street and outside the Bodleian Library. The many Mummy set photos show the Hollywood in good spirits as he goes about filming, while others show the actor in character filming some pretty intense scenes at night in the city.

Kurtzman will direct the new film for the studio, and it has a release date set for the 9th June, 2017. Check out The Mummy set photos below. More news on The Mummy as we get it.
