Scott Eastwood has joined the cast of the soon to start production of Fast and the Furious 8, aka Fast 8. Eastwood will play a new character in the film, which is also set to star Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez and many more from the previous movies. Deadline reports the Scott Eastwood Fast 8 news, and adds that the actor, son of screen legend Clint Eastwood, will join the confirmed Charlize Theron in the film, who will play the villain.
There are rumours that Kurt Russell will reprise his role as Frank Petty from the last movie, the leader of a covert ops team who aided Dom and his team in taking down Shaw (Jason Statham) in Los Angeles. Game Of Thrones actor Kristofer Hivju was also confirmed as playing a henchman in the anticipated movie alongside Theron’s villain last week.
F. Gary Gray, who brought us Straight Outta Compton last year is prepping and will direct the super-charged sequel for Universal Pictures, and the film has a release date set for next April.
Jason Statham, Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges and Tyrese Gibson are also set for the eighth film, which is likely to shoot in New York City, Iceland and even Cuba. I will be the biggest film to ever shoot in the country. Chris Morgan is writing the screenplay for the film, which has a release date set in stone for April 14, 2017.
Scott Eastwood will next be seen in Suicide Squad later this summer, and the forthcoming Snowden biopic which is being directed by Oliver Stone.
