Suicide Squad BBFC rating: DC villains movie handed a higher rating across the United Kingdom.
The Suicide Squad BBFC rating has been revealed as ’15’, meaning no person under that age will be permitted to see it when in arrives on August 5th.
Suicide Squad BBFC rating confirmed as ’15’
The upcoming DC villains movie Suicide Squad has had a bit of positive news (well, in our minds anyway); it has been given a 15 certificate by the BBFC. The MPAA, the US censor, has officially given it a PG-13, which means anyone under the age of 13 cannot see the film without an adult, but ANYONE in the UK wanting to see the film, will have to be over the age of 15.
Twitter responded.
Director David Ayer spoke at CinemaCon earlier this year about the rating and which one he was going after. PG-13 was the short answer, but here’s what he had to say:
“For an R movie, you have to decide to do it right out the gate, and that was never the case here,” Ayer said in April at CinemaCon.
“We were always going to hit the PG-13 rating. But the film is meant to be that. It’s got edge, and it’s got attitude. And it’s got its own voice… There’s a lot in the film that’s going to surprise people.”
No news on whether Warner Bros. will challenge it, or make cuts, which would not be a good move. We’re guessing not. Personally, I think a 15 rating is a good thing. It didn’t do Deadpool any hard, right?
