A new trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has found its way online. This is a Japanese version of the big trailer that we were treated to late last week and has actually had more footage added to it. More on the new Rogue One international trailer below.

Of course, a lot of the beats are the same in this new Rogue One international trailer, including that ending with a very familiar image of the rear of a dark lord, but there are a few new shots that are rather pleasing. We also have new detail about the film’s “weapon test.”

Rogue One revolves around a group of rebel fighters who are hell bent intent on stealing the plans for the Death Star, the huge planet-sized weapon from Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, which was released back in 1977. The rumour is that the events in Rogue One lead up to just ten minutes before the start of that movie where Darth Vader made that entrance.

Felicity Jones leads the cast of Rogue One as Jyn Erso, alongside Mads Mikklesen who plays her father, Galen Erso. He is mentioned, but not seen in the latest trailer. Diego Luna stars as Captain Cassian Andor with Donnie Yen as the blind spiritual warrior Chirrut Imwe, Jiang Wen as his heavily armored best friend Baze Malbus, Alan Tudyk as the droid K-2SO, Riz Ahmed as the Rebel pilot Bodhi Rook, and then Forest Whitaker as Saw Gerrera and Ben Mendelsohn as the film’s bad guy Director Orson Krennic.

Gareth Edwards directs Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which enters cinemas on December 16th, 2016. Watch the new Rogue One international trailer below.
