Jared Leto, who we last saw in this summer’s Suicide Squad, is all set to play legendary artist Andy Warhol in a new biopic to be written by Terrence Winter (The Wolf Of Wall Street, Boardwalk Empire, Vinyl).

The film, which will be called simply Warhol, will be based on the Victor Bockris 1989 book, Warhol: The Biography, so reports The Hollywood Reporter.

Here’s the official synopsis for that title.

Artist, filmmaker, magazine publisher, instigator of Pop Art, Andy Warhol used his canvasses of dollar bills, soup cans, and celebrities to subvert distinctions between high and popular culture. His spectacular career encompassed the underground scene as well as the equally deviant worlds of politics, show business, and high society. Warhol is the definitive chronicle of Warhol’s storied life.

Leto will also produce the new biopic alongside Michael De Luca,  with the trade saying that the final film will not be ‘a low-budget indie with Warhol but rather a strong mainstream project with prestige credentials…’

More as it comes in.
